WHERE DO THE CHILDREN PLAY

We enter school this week with this beautiful song by Cat Stevens. Pay attention to the lyrics!

With this song Cat Stevens admits that we've progressed a long way through technological advances. However in doing so, he protests that we have destroyed much of our environment by trucks "pumping petrol gas" and by the building over and cementing of children's play areas in cities

FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE

The United Nations Climate Conference 25 will take place in Madrid from 2 to 13 December 2019. It's an important event to fight against climate change.
Climate change is a proven fact. Global warming has caused serious changes to the planet, such as rising sea levels, extreme weather events, deforestation,  disappearance of species...
But we can slow down global warming by implementing small more sustainable actions within our community.

Do you know what climate change means?

And what can we do to fight climate change?

GRETA THUNBERG

Greta Thunberg is a Swedish environmental activist on climate change who has gained international recognition. Greta is a 16-year-old girl who lives in Stockholm with her parents and sister Beata. She enjoys spending her spare time riding horses. She loves animals and has a passion for books and science. At a young age, she became interested in the environment and convinced her family to adopt a sustainable lifestyle.

After Thunberg addressed the 2018 United Nations Climate Change Conference, student strikes took place every week somewhere in the world. In 2019, there were at least two coordinated multi-city protests involving over one million students each.
She has been named as one of the 100 most influential people of 2019 by Time magazine.

This year the theme is "BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION AND SAY NO TO SINGLE-USE PLASTIC".
Together, we can make a change. If you can't reuse it, refuse it!

This year India hosts World Environment Day. Plastic is a big problem in India. Watch how UN Goodwill ambassador Dia Mirza joined environmentalist Afroz Shah to celebrate this day by cleaning up Mumbai's Versova beach.
